Clay County Outdoors
Clay County Outdoors is a yearly magazine produced by the Henrietta and Clay County Chamber of Commerce highlighting the natural resources, events, people, destinations and clubs in Clay County. The magazine is circulated to 3,000 Clay County residents while 5,000 total are published. Two thousand copies are given to Chamber members and the Highway 287 Best Western to be used as the chief promotional tool of the county. All proceeds benefit the Chamber to continue promoting commerce and tourism in Clay County.
In 2005, Linda Burleson of the Clay County Memorial Hospital and Deborah Clark of the Birdwell Clark Ranch introduced Turkey Fest as the primary fundraiser for the Chamber. ClayCountyOutdoors.org became the perfect complement to further Turkey Fest’s goal of promoting the area and its resources through hunting opportunities. In 2011, Turkey Fest added a live concert series to its long roster of festivities. To help cover concert expenses and further the mission of Clay County Outdoors the team decided to produce a periodical that not only highlights places to visit or the events to attend but, also showcase the people who make this county great. The 2012 edition is the premier edition of Clay County Outdoors.
