Turkey Fest is the spring family-oriented festival in North Texas! Turkey Fest attracted 5,000 festival goers in 2013 & 2014. We love to see our fest grow! Our team of volunteers loves this annual event. We see the positive impact on our community, our economy and the Henrietta and Clay County Chamber.

Turkey Fest is not just for hunters – it’s for the whole family. We make sure that we have activities for everyone and every budget. Plus, coming to the fest is free and there are plenty of free children’s activities to keep the kids occupied!

In 2012, the downtown festival became a celebration of community and turkeys as we moved the events to the courthouse square to create a vendor-filled Saturday. For 2013, we included a Turkey Cook-Off with a $1,000 Winner Take All prize and Gobble It Up Pie Eating Contest by Stewart’s Sweet Stop. The day is filled with free family fun, music, food and live demonstrations. Your little gobblers won’t go home without a great time.

Turkey Fest's 2013 World ChampionsWORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Turkey Fest is the only wild turkey festival dedicated to offering celebrity hunt teams a home away from home while they answer the call to become world champions. Teams are hosted and accommodated by local ranches. Teams consist of three members: a cameraman, caller, and marksman. The Turkey Fest is always looking for new talent to include in the competition. Teams must have a syndicated outdoor show broadcast on channels like Versus, Pursuit, or the Sportman’s Channel to be considered for the competition.

Turkey Fest is not only a competition for the professional hunters, but for anyone wanting to have a shot against the local competition. For 2014, we’ve included a $1,000 cash prize from Cabela’s. The open competition has both an Adult and Youth division. Download the Battle of the Beards entry/registration form for more information!

Turkey Fest full strut banquet

FULL STRUT BANQUET The Full Strut Banquet is sold out year after year. As of 2014, we’ve moved to the Pioneer Hall to accommodate up to 500. The catered dinner is top notch and you can’t forget about the bar by P2. The World Champion is announced; plus, it’s our chance to rag on our celebrity teams. We have a good time – you should come!

The Henrietta VFD invites you to a free Street Dance following the festival. The free fun continues around the square with musical guests and your chance to support our location firefighters.
